Tired All the Time?

Struggling with Afternoon Fatigue?

Two Steps to Beat Fatigue

Get Your Energy Back!

Fatigue or lack of energy are the most common symptoms that our patients report to us when they first come to Thrive! Wellness Center.

It doesn’t matter if they’re women or men, teenagers, middle-aged or seniors citizens. The number one complaint is:

I’m Tired – All the time!

Why are low energy and fatigue the #1 complaint?

Because almost any imbalance in the body causes a decrease in your energy and stamina.

Whether your particular health challenge stems from inactive or other thyroid problems, B-vitamin deficiencies, food sensitivities or even too much yeast in the gut – all of these cause stress on the whole body.

When the body is under stress it uses more energy to battle the condition and eats up its energy stores.  This leaves you very little left over for work, play or exercise and hence you feel tired – because you are tired.

The good news?

Low energy is usually the 1st symptom to improve with nutrition

Getting proper nutrients to the organs and other body systems is the focus of what we do at Thrive! Wellness Center.

Your nutrition program will consist of personalized dietary recommendations along with the exact whole food nutritional supplements you need to restore the body’s balance so it can heal itself.

Using food and nutrition to restore balance typically results in increased energy and alertness and less fatigue as the first improvement.

“How long will it take before I stop feeling tired all the time?”

I would say, on average, when a new patient starts eating real food and takes their supplements they get renewed energy and feel less tired within the first 6 weeks on a program (often sooner).

Of course, that doesn’t mean everything is hunky-dory, but they do feel improvement. Depending on how long your body has been out of balance it will take much longer to correct the underlying issues that led to your fatigue in the first place.

People have usually been unknowingly starving their body of nutrition and “poisoning” it with processed food for so long, when they give it real food and supplements the body just soaks up all the nutrition and starts improving pretty darn fast.

The biggest things in our diet that contribute to low energy are too many simple carbohydrates from sugar, bread, pastas and processed food. That is compounded by what we don’t eat – good proteins, good fats and veggies.

Two Simple Tips to help get your energy back

The key to increasing your energy levels is to decrease certain foods you eat and  increase other foods maybe you don’t eat.

Get More Energy Tip #1

Decrease the amount of simple carbohydrates you eat.

 Reduce things like:

  • Pasta
  • Bread
  • Sugary Drinks
  • Junk Food

Get More Energy Tip #2

Increase the amount of foods that nourish you and make you feel full but not stuffed. Eat more of these three food groups –  Protein, Fats and Veggies.

Start adding more things like:

  • Eggs for breakfast
  • Broccoli with Grass-fed Butter (Try Kerrygold from Costco or Whole Foods)
  • Salads – Every day (with real olive oil dressing, of course.)

Those foods will give your body fuel for the whole day, keep you from being hungry and help you enjoy your life again. You’ll start to regain your youthful vitality and  energy and stamina will be your reward!

Simple, right? …and you’ve heard it all before?

Well, yes, it is simple and if you’ve heard it all before and haven’t done it then  it’s time to give it a try.

Maybe you’re thinking:

“That’s easy for you to say, you don’t know how exhausted I am or how much I crave (pizza, candy, ice cream, etc.)”

Oh, but I do…

I was fat and exhausted and had no idea why

After graduating from Chiropractic college I unfortunately  didn’t know much about nutrition. Like everyone else, I ate the standard American diet (aka SAD diet) and ended up 35 pounds overweight as a result.

I was also totally  EXHAUSTED.  I would come home after work and sit on the couch and wonder how I could possibly find the energy to do laundry, cook or do the million other things  I needed to do.

All this at the ripe old age of 26!!!

I hadn’t learned much about proper nutrition in school, but I knew that how I was eating may have something to do with what I was eating. So, I started looking for seminars or opportunities to learn more about it.

Luckily, one of the first seminars I attended was a Standard Process nutritional seminar where the speaker was teaching how to eat in order to lose weight and detoxify.  That one weekend changed me physically and mentally and refocused my whole life.

Right after the seminar I started a nutritional program using Standard Process nutrition and also changed my diet to eliminate refined carbohydrates.  I lost lots of weight (30 pounds!) but the most important benefit was that my energy skyrocketed!

I finally felt my age and at the end of the day I could actually do something enjoyable instead of just collapsing on the couch.

These 2 tips for beating fatigue will only get you started – there’s more you need to do
